Author's Story
My name for the purpose of my books is Bradley Dallas North. For the purpose of truth, my name is David Keith Sumrell. I became an author in an unusual way. I grew up knowing that God had a plan for my life, but I didn't really understand what that meant, and I certainly did not know what His plans would be. I was in Africa, in 2002, I looked in the mirror while shaving; shut my right eye and realized how I lost the sight in my left eye. After returning to the United States and going to an eye doctor and specialists, I was told that I had melanoma cancer and the tumor was in my eye. My doctor's wanted to remove my eye to stop the possibility of metastases that could have traveled elsewhere in my body.
I felt strongly that if they took out my eye, it would have grave consequences. After extensive research and consultations, including the Will's Eye Center in Philadelphia, PA., they agreed, enucleation was not the answer. In 2003, the doctors at Duke Medical Center, placed a radioactive plaque behind my left eye. It was removed after 5 days and seemed to be successful in killing the tumor. I did not regain my eyesight, but the cancer in the eye was killed. A few months later, I felt something like a piece of sand on the right side of my neck. I went back to the doctor for a regular scheduled exam and was put into emergency surgery, immediately. The "piece of sand" was removed and determined to be metastatic melanoma. The cancer had spread from my eye, to my lymph system and then to my liver, lungs, and brain. I was terminal and stage four.
In 2004, my doctors told me that it was too late. They could only prescribe me painkillers; so that death would be as painless as possible. As I left the hospital my thoughts turned to my children, I knew I wasn't even going to be around long enough to see my daughter graduate High School that year. I closed my eyes, I thanked God for all of the blessings I had received and for the time I had already lived. I said that if it was His will for me to come home, then I was ready. Then I said, "Lord, if You give me the opportunity; I will write three books in Your honor." I don't know where those words came from, because I had never written a book in my life! I did not want to die and I knew I should not ask why; however I was OK, either way!
I wrote my first manuscript in less than three months. I immediately started my second manuscript after writing "the end" on my first one. I wrote my second manuscript in a month and a half. I was working 20 hours a day writing on the computer. After completing the 'manuscript' was when the real work started in completing the books. I returned to the doctor in May 2005, because during the completion of the second manuscript, I was experiencing severe muscle pain. By accident my doctor and I discovered the cancer in my lungs was gone! I was sent through another complete battery of test, confirming the xrays. There is no medical explanation for the disappearance of my cancer,especially when no medicines were taken. I have fulfilled my promise to God and have written three books. I know the reason I am alive is because of my faith and the millions of people that I didn't even know, praying for me all over the world. I know this is a Miracle - A Blessing from God, through my love and faith of God; His Son, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
Now that you know that story, let me tell you a little about my background.
In 1974, I joined the United States Navy at age 17. I served in Vietnam during the evacuation of Saigon. The picture where I am kneeling at 'The Wall,' is for respect of my friends and others who gave their all! I have studied martial arts in many forms and styles for over 30 years. I have fought all over the world while traveling in the military and afterwards. I was approved for BUD training, but decided not to become a United States Navy Seal. I have shared the devastation of war. Along with my comrades and enemies, shared the pain of death. We all fought for what we believed and then we were left with the awesome task of putting the war in the past.
Because of my great desire to help people and due to my background; I have worked and investigated with Federal, State and local authorities, security, bodyguard and privately on special projects, both domestic and international. I have always tried to help others, especially when no one else would. I have traveled all over the world to help others when needed.
My books are based on adventures and tragedies in my life, but they are not about me. They are about the brave men and women who I have grown to know and respect, through their love for our country and the world. These are people who put their lives on the line every day for the security and stability of our nation and the world. These are real heroes. My first two books are about domestic and international mystery, murder, covert-operations, gold and some of the lives lost in these projects.
My third book is about my Faith and how 'Miracles,' are not just in the Bible or a thing of the past. It is my own personal story of being sent home to die and my covenant with God. The medical evidence is well documented and CBN's, 700 Club, aired my story in part on June 26, 2007, just before the death of my son. My books are about giving, helping, miracles and hope. It is up to us all to help those less fortunate and how God has a plan for each of us. I am living today because of the 'Miracle(s)', God gave to me. I would love to share them with you!

In my next book, I will share with you how God told me He was getting ready to bring my 21 year old son home. I will try to share the pain of my greatest loss and I the beauty of this revelation...
